Subaru GL (Leone) Hatchback

  1. Never understood why they named these that...is it in reference to Sierra Leone? That would make sense because these little cars are just like a West African country. Or maybe it was for the famed Italian director, Sergio Leone. That would also make sense for a Japanese economy car.

    What's that under the front bumper? Is that for towing or something?

  2. I was thinking it was a name for one of the stars in the Pleiades, but that is not correct.

    I think it is where a tow bar would attach.

  3. Aha! I looked it up. Being one of the stars would have been brilliant marketing, given the Subaru logo. But no, it's Italian for lion. Yep, makes perfect sense; one look at that car and how could a person NOT think of a big cat. Uh huh. Sure. Lordy.
